Transition To WordPress 2.5

I’m currently excited with the successful upgrade of this site to version WordPress 2.5 from the old version 2.3.3. Good thing my host graciously provided me with an upgrade link courtesy of Fantastico (a script library) available in my site’s dashboard. It handled everything without me toying with file permissions and directories in my site.

I’m still in the process of testing and checking for (unknown) bugs that might appear while I’m writing and managing posts using WordPress 2.5. Who knows what bug (error) might bite me suddenly in between writing and saving posts? It’s better to test, test, and conduct more tests today and even a few days from now.

I’ve also changed my blog’s theme to a newer version - the modern, simple and grayish greyblog. I’m also in the process of testing this theme for compatibility issues and also for hidden bugs.

Seems everything is looking ok and working just fine.

Plans And The Approaching Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year is fast approaching and generally most citizens here in Singapore are busy preparing and stocking on food and new items in their list - appliances, clothing, furniture - any new stuff they could get hold onto. Everyone is in the mood to usher the coming lunar new year where there will be pompous parades, carnivals, side shows, and cultural events (the 2008 Singapore River Hong Bao is one of those) happening within the period of Chinese new year celebration (starting next week).

I will be busy taking photographs and planning places to go for the next few weeks (along with friends) in search of ideal places related to the lunar new year celebration and anything culturally Chinese. I do have some old batch of pictures from last year taken within Chinatown but I want to cover this year’s event and post them soon.

Wordpress Version 2.3.1 Update For This Blog

I’ve visited my site’s cPanel and discovered that my account’s free software upgrade installation of Wordpress 2.3.1 (from 2.2.2) is available. I’ve clicked on the upgrade link and within seconds my Wordpress blog site is now 2.3.1.

I’m still testing the features inside, and looking for any bugs that might occur while I type and save my posts and categories. But it seems everything is fine and working, although I’m still getting the hang about the usage and differences of tags against categories.
