Mother’s Day Dedication
On Mother’s Day today:
- May the blessings of God nurture the souls of our ever dearest beloved mothers whom we owe our precious lives.
- May everyone continuously love and respect, give thanks, and provide joy to our beloved mothers whom we cherish their everlasting love for us.
- May the coming years of our beloved mothers become more fruitful and wonderful as each year passes by, treasuring precious moments with us, their children, and strengthening bonds till the end of days.
Thanks Mom for everything (you know them). Thanks for the love and guidance you’ve always provided for us in times of abundance and times of scarcity, in times of bliss and in times of grief. I really wonder how you’re still capable of loving us even on days we seem to ignore your love and fidelity for us (really sorry for that). But that’s the wonder and beauty of mothers like you, mom. Dedicated souls to their children. A dedication to life that only (all) mothers would know.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Switching Airlines
Looks like I’m going switch to another airline to book a flight back to the Philippines just in time for the planned summer vacation and reunion with my family. Cebu Pacific is having some trouble with their system that affected their online booking as well as their telephone lines and other forms of communication.
I currently hold two travel vouchers issued last December of 2007 by the attending officers of Cebu Pacific at the time when I was bumped off my scheduled flight because of overbooking (how’s that for convenience). Now I’m having some trouble contacting their supposedly 24-hour call center hotline since yesterday to book some seats using my travel vouchers. I only got empty messages from their answering machine: “Sorry, all agents are busy now. Please hold on the line while we attend to your call shortly. Your call is important to us.” Bad thing for me is that I’ve been using a call card to contact the Manila office from Singapore and as the precious minutes pass by my card credits are slowly dwindling and wasted. No one seemed to be picking up the phone last night for the past ten to twenty minutes of calling. I tried calling again after an hour and still I get the same messages while the phone at their office keeps on ringing as if nobody is present at all.
I tried again calling their office this morning. No luck. I kept on getting the same reply that the call center phone number is not being used.
I tried to look for some ways to contact Cebu Pacific so I decided to browse the Internet for some information. I stumbled instead to a plethora of current complaints since last week about the ineptness of Cebu Pacific’s system after a suppose upgrade done by their people. I read a lot of the seething complaints from other bloggers. Many vowed not to fly again with Cebu Pacific after their harrowing experiences booking a seat or canceling their flight. Some bloggers even suggested not to take Cebu Pacific for now until their people will take some action to rectify the mess done by their system upgrade.
You could read a lot of the other complaints and horror stories from this search list.
I’ll be switching to PAL most likely. I hear their offering a much better service and cheaper flight deals nowadays. I don’t want to take chances with a missed flight, a delayed flight, or even losing reserved seat in a Cebu Pacific flight just because of a glitch in their system.

Sick Break
Having a weeklong bout of colds, flu, and fever is nothing to sneeze at (pun intended) especially if it affects work, play, and blogging. Yes, I got a bite from the annoying colds virus (which explains the lack of activity here). But I’m ok now.
Seems like I’m not the only one who had been affected: I met a lady manning the counter at the local gym I frequently go to who admitted being sick with colds. A fellow officemate whom I had not seen for the entire week also called in sick and had bouts of fever. My boss mentioned to me that her daughter also been fighting off colds and flu since Sunday last week. A few friends and acquaintances I met recently looked sick, tired and sniffing frequently. It looks like the season of colds and flu nowadays, especially when aggravated by the sudden drastic change of temperature (extreme heat and humidity outside versus the cold temperatures inside the office buildings).
It’s time to take those vitamins, plenty of rests, and lots of fluids.
A picture for today:
